The legendary trio The Glitch Mob teamed up with DEADBEAT’s LICK to create a dark, heavy hitting banger called “System Bleed.” The Glitch Mob (TGM), made up of Boreta (Justin Boreta), ooah (Justin Mayer) and edIT (Ed Ma) are currently touring with NGHTMRE + SLANDER present GUD VIBRATIONS and Seven Lions on The Alchemy Tour. I am attending their show at The Gorge Amphitheater and am stoked to see them perform this new track live. “System Bleed” is definitely an amalgamation between both parties and blends their sounds masterfully. The timing of this new ominous banger is very apropos for October.
LICK is definitely an emerging artist to keep on your radar. The enigmatic producer has released music on DEADBEATS record label and has created remixes for Zeds’s Dead, Jauz and others. Known for his mid-tempo bass sound, his debut album “DARK VIBE ORDER” came out on Denver based ATL:Vision Records.
“When I heard The Glitch Mob were playing my songs I reached out to them. Soon enough we put an idea for a song together. They brought me out at EDC to debut it and the rest is history. The Glitch Mob are absolute legends and it’s been an honor working with them.” -LICK
That New New
Friday morning I received a text from The Glitch Mob (seriously) with a link to “System Bleed.” I listened to this song on repeat a few times, digesting the thoughtfully layered sounds and textures. Each time I heard new nuances and details that made me fall in love with the song more and more. The song starts off with a cacophony of synths that steadily build up with intensity and power. A demonic undercurrent carries through the song as it reaches the first drop, sounding like a call to arms for Genghis Khan’s army. An oscillating bassline answers the call and is met with euphonious and ambient vocals. As I listen I can’t help but picture lasers being fired out of the ether. “We are so fired up to finally release this track with Lick. He’s an incredible young artist and we’ve been playing versions of this in our sets all year. This will be the first in a series of collaborations with producers that we admire and creatively vibe with.” –The Glitch Mob
“System Bleed” is the first of many collaborations that TGM has lined up for the rest of 2019. The trio has specifically sought emerging talent in order to tell the next chapter of their story. Ever since their 2018 album “See Without Eyes” I’ve been craving new music from TGM and am thrilled to hear new music is eminent. Be sure to follow their socials so you know when their new music drops.
