We are just one month away from Sonic Bloom, and Cervantes has us covered! The official Sonic Bloom pre party has a stacked lineup with Break Science and Shlump co-headlining to get everyone hyped for next month.
The Santa Cruz resident Michael Petzel, otherwise known as Shlump, has been taking his fans on a ride through his experimental bass/dubstep tracks. Not only are his tunes taking you on an intergalactic spaceship with his Alien Technology, Shlump likes the describe some of his music as “Alien Shit” and it is no surprise that his fans are ready for his newest music he has hinted at playing at Cervantes.
This year alone, Shlump wrapped up the Swamplex tour with 12th Planet. The tour kicked off in Austin, Texas in January and ended in Phoenix, Arizona at the end of March. As if that weren’t a busy way to start 2019, Shlump has also announced that he is performing at a handful of festivals this year as well. Some of these festivals include Lost Lands, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo, Kosmic Kingdom, and a special back to back to back set with Space Jesus and EPROM as well as a silent disco set at Bonnaroo.
Not only is Shlump performing at these festivals later on this year, he has also been featured at the DoLab Stage at Coachella weekend 2 and was an opener for the Wakaan Takeover after party at the Joy Theater for BUKU. With the anticipation for the inaugural Wakaan Music Festival at Mulberry Mountain lineup to be released, some might speculate that Shlump should be on the lineup once it is released. Only time will tell what other lineups Shlump may be featured on in 2019…
Shlump has some fantastic collaborations with some of my favorite artists. One of these features is with Liquid Stranger titled “Creature”. The song reminds me of how phenomenal of a producer Liquid Stranger and Shlump both are by mixing both of their producing styles to formulate a track that takes you on a ride through space. Take a listen below:
Doors are open at 8pm and Shlump is slated to play his set in the Ballroom at Cervantes from 11pm-12am according to the event page (subject to change). Don’t miss your chance to be abducted by the alien muzik! Peep the full lineup below and grab your tickets here!
