Last month, Infrasound Music Festival broke its silence by confirming attendees will be meeting once again July 11th-13th for the festival’s eighth year. When the announcement was made, beloved fans around the country (and especially on my Facebook feed) rejoiced the dates were officially locked in. Since then, everyone has been anxiously awaiting more information on what is in store.
“Don’t misinterpret the silence for a lack of movement. We are coming with fresh and exciting plans for 2019.” – Alex Toffler, Infrasound Festival Talent Buyer
Recently, Infrasound made another big announcement on more information regarding the festival. It will be moving from its previous home in Highbridge, Wisconsin to Geneva, Minnesota. Read the announcement below:
“We are beyond excited to announce that we are moving to our new home at Harmony Park in Geneva, MN. This is a beautiful, intimate, and established festival campground featuring grassy campsites tucked beneath 100 year old oak trees on Lake Geneva just 1.5 hours south of Minneapolis.
When we first had the idea of starting Infrasound this was our dream home and now, after years of establishing ourselves as one of the premier underground electronic festivals, we have been invited to host the event there with open arms.
We are looking forward to bringing you our most exciting lineup yet featuring artists from all over the world representing the many sounds of the underground electronic community.” -Infrasound Music Festival
Alex Toffler disclosed some more benefits within the Infrasound Family Facebook page; but, for now, not much more information has been revealed. The lineup has not been released yet, and it is currently unknown when that date is going to be. Last year, the full lineup was released May 18th and it had additional artists sprinkle in around mid-June. However, last year Infrasound graced us with killer acts such as Caspa, Koan Sound, Yheti, TRUTH, Esseks, etc. With the bold promise to present the most exciting lineup yet, I am sure Infrasound is going to deliver.
I am not sure what to expect from the new venue, but I definitely know it holds a ton of promise. There has been a lot of venue changes with Midwestern music festivals happening this year, and it’s always fascinating to see how setups change. I am excited to see what Infrasound does with this new space!
Tickets will go on sale April 12th at 11AM CST, with payment plan options available. For now, 3-day passes will likely only be available, with Saturday-only passes available later on. You can go here to visit the Infrasound website or here to join the Infrasound Family Facebook group.
