Dear Forecastle Festival,
It is almost our 2-year anniversary, and I must say that I couldn’t love this year’s lineup more! Every year you continue to show the Midwest festival scene that not only are you top-notch, but that you care about every attendee’s experience. I can’t wait to see you and celebrate your 15th with you and so many of our friends!
Also, there are so many amazing gems on your lineup this year! The headliners LCD Soundsystem, Weezer, Odesza, and Cage the Elephant are obviously wonderful, but this lineup is full of amazing artists that are worthy of showing up early for.
Spoon is my top choice. Their new album “Hot Thoughts” is electric. They always seem to bring such amazing energy and progress forward. I’m hoping for a great mixture of the new album and old favorites.
Tycho has us covered for when we will be in need of that “chill out” set. Beautifully melodic and introspective, I do not want to miss the journey.
And, for those of us that just can’t get enough girl power (even after PJ Harvey), we must check Phantogram out! Their fusion of electronic and pop will be sure to get all of us festers dancing.
